A Treasure Hunters Dream Come True!

SPOOKY TREASURE TROVES
FIND OUT THE STRANGE CONNECTION BETWEEN UFOS, GHOSTS, CURSED PIECES OF EIGHT AND THE SUPERNATURAL
Everyone has fantasized about finding buried treasure. It’s a child’s dream and many a grown person’s obsession. Thousands own metal detectors and regularly scan the shore line, creek beds and out of the way mountain crevices looking for that proverbial treasure trove of all time.
In the summer of 2015, a salvage company recovered treasure worth $4.5 million off the coast of Florida, a fortune in gold and jewels that had sunk with a Spanish galleon in 1715. In an amazing case of synchronicity, the vast riches were recovered 300 years to the day – July 31 – after the shipwreck. The CEO of the salvage company told the media at the time that he felt a mysterious “energy” had wanted the treasure found and led them to it on that precise day
But there is more. Inside the pages of this book, the reader will be given the opportunity to unlock the mystery to discovering some fabulous fortune that has lain hidden away for decades, perhaps even centuries. Join Tim Beckley, Sean Casteel, Paul Eno, Dr. Nandor Fodor, Scott Corrales, Preston Dennett and Paul Dale Roberts as they provide guidance in searching for million of dollars or more in gold, diamonds, rare doubloons or old art masterpieces.
But above all else you will learn of the “supernatural treasure hunting connection” that includes the appearance of UFOs, ghosts, spirits of deceased Native Americans and even Bigfoot, all of whom are either guarding vast treasures or have been known to lead deserving souls to the end of a rainbow and vast wealth.
This volume will surely be a prize possession of anyone interested in the connection between UFOs, ghosts, curses and the paranormal. Or anyone just looking for a spooky story that they can relate to.

Shiver me timbers! It’s all here – and a heck of a lot more, matey.

The Dark Origins of Valentines Day
By Arnie Seipel

Valentine's Day is a time to celebrate romance and love and kissy-face fealty. But the origins of this festival of candy and cupids are actually dark, bloody — and a bit muddled.
A drawing depicts the death of St. Valentine — one of them, anyway. The Romans executed two men by that name on Feb. 14 of different years in the 3rd century A.D. i

Though no one has pinpointed the exact origin of the holiday, one good place to start is ancient Rome, where men hit on women by, well, hitting them.
Those Wild And Crazy Romans
From Feb. 13 to 15, the Romans celebrated the feast of Lupercalia. The men sacrificed a goat and a dog, then whipped women with the hides of the animals they had just slain.
The Roman romantics "were drunk. They were naked," says Noel Lenski, a historian at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Young women would actually line up for the men to hit them, Lenski says. They believed this would make them fertile.
The brutal fete included a matchmaking lottery, in which young men drew the names of women from a jar. The couple would then be, um, coupled up for the duration of the festival — or longer, if the match was right.
The ancient Romans may also be responsible for the name of our modern day of love. Emperor Claudius II executed two men — both named Valentine — on Feb. 14 of different years in the 3rd century A.D. Their martyrdom was honored by the Catholic Church with the celebration of St. Valentine's Day.
Later, Pope Gelasius I muddled things in the 5th century by combining St. Valentine's Day with Lupercalia to expel the pagan rituals. But the festival was more of a theatrical interpretation of what it had once been. Lenski adds, "It was a little more of a drunken revel, but the Christians put clothes back on it. That didn't stop it from being a day of fertility and love."
Around the same time, the Normans celebrated Galatin's Day. Galatin meant "lover of women." That was likely confused with St. Valentine's Day at some point, in part because they sound alike.
William Shakespeare helped romanticize Valentine's Day in his work, and it gained popularity throughout Britain and the rest of Europe. i

Shakespeare In Love
As the years went on, the holiday grew sweeter. Chaucer and Shakespeare romanticized it in their work, and it gained popularity throughout Britain and the rest of Europe. Handmade paper cards became the tokens-du-jour in the Middle Ages.
Eventually, the tradition made its way to the New World. The industrial revolution ushered in factory-made cards in the 19th century. And in 1913, Hallmark Cards of Kansas City, Mo., began mass producing valentines. February has not been the same since.
Today, the holiday is big business: According to market research firm IBIS World, Valentine's Day sales reached $17.6 billion last year; this year's sales are expected to total $18.6 billion.
But that commercialization has spoiled the day for many. Helen Fisher, a sociologist at Rutgers University, says we have only ourselves to blame.
"This isn't a command performance," she says. "If people didn't want to buy Hallmark cards, they would not be bought, and Hallmark would go out of business."
And so the celebration of Valentine's Day goes on, in varied ways. Many will break the bank buying jewelry and flowers for their beloveds. Others will celebrate in a SAD (that's Single Awareness Day) way, dining alone and binging on self-gifted chocolates. A few may even be spending this day the same way the early Romans did. But let's not go there.

- ACCESSORIZING FOR THE UNKNOWN DEPARTMENT -

Men in Black…Gloves
By Nick Redfern

In September of last year, I wrote an article here at Mysterious Universe titled “Men in Black…Cloaks.” It began as follows (QUOTE): “There’s no doubt in my mind that when it comes to the matter of the Men in Black, there is a direct connection between these menacing characters and a wealth of other supernatural phenomena. That includes the Hat-Man, the Shadow People, the Black-Eyed Children, and the Women in Black. All of these entities are definitively sinister in nature and should be avoided at all costs. And, to a degree, they even mirror each other.

“The Black-Eyed Children, for example, parallel the MIB when it comes to trying to find their way into homes, usually late at night. The MIB and the Hat-Man are both known for their old-style fedoras. The Women in Black are the absolute female counterparts of the MIB, even down to the pale, overly-smooth skin. And there are more than a few reports on record of Shadow People wearing fedoras. This leads me to believe all of these ‘things’ are manifestations of one phenomenon, albeit in different (but not too different) guises. There is, however, yet another entity that falls into this particular category. It’s one that I have a few reports on, but which often gets overlooked when it comes to the MIB connection. We’re talking about ‘Men in Black Cloaks.'” (END OF QUOTE)

Well, now there’s yet another sub-category to add to all of the creepy characters described above: “Men in Black Gloves.” Over the years, a few reports have surfaced of the menacing Men in Black wearing black gloves, but certainly nowhere near the extent to which they are associated with black fedoras and old, 1950s-era black cars. However, between October of last year and late January of this year, I have received what I can only describe as a “cluster” of reports of the MIB wearing black gloves.

Now, if I got – hypothetically – a report or two every couple of years of gloved MIB, I probably wouldn’t have given the matter much thought. But, in the five months that have roughly passed since I got the first report, I have now received eight such accounts. And, from varying parts of the United States. Admittedly, at first, I thought this might be some curious kind of MIB “spam.” Namely, a group of people deciding to get together and waste my time with a bunch of bogus, concocted tales. But, having spoken on the phone with six of them, and having had extensive email exchanges with the remaining two, I’m 100 percent sure that’s not the case.

Of the eight, six had experiences with the gloved MIB in what were classic states of hypnagogia. For those who may not be aware of the phenomenon, it is – as Wikipedia correctly notes – “the experience of the transitional state from wakefulness to sleep.” It’s a stage in which people can hear voices and unclear mumbling. Loud “bang”-like noises are not uncommon. Nor are the sounds of a door knocking or a doorbell ringing. Visual hallucinations can occur too. Sometimes, they are traumatic. On other occasions, however, they’re uplifting. The phenomenon of “sleep paralysis” can also be a factor in hypnagogia, but certainly not always.

Now, the down to earth explanation for hypnagogia is that it’s purely an internal phenomenon, provoked by that aforementioned hazy state of being semi-awake and semi-asleep. However, over the years, I have spoken with more than a few people who are absolutely sure in their minds that there is an external component to all of this. In other words, the idea that paranormal entities can literally “invade” our dream-states. And, perhaps, our semi-dream states, too. Of course, there’s no hard evidence for this, but that hasn’t stopped such a theory from persisting. And particularly so in so-called “alien abduction” experiences, and also with regard to encounters with the likes of the “Old Hag,” and Incubus- and Succubus-type creatures. And, it seems, we can now add the Men in Black gloves to that list.

As controversial as it may sound, I’m quite open to the idea that what many assume to be internal experiences may have an external “Fortean” aspect attached to them. One of the reasons being when I get these “cluster”-style reports. Now, I’m not saying that an entire bunch of people – spread all across the United States and unknown to each other – couldn’t share eerily similar experiences. But, across just 5 months? And all with the imagery of MIB wearing black gloves? And they all decide to contact me? That’s when I begin to think we’re not dealing with just hypnagogia.

In all of these specific cases I received, the Men in Black were wearing the old-style Fedoras for which they are famously known. In two of the cases, the witnesses felt themselves being choked by the glove-wearing MIB – something which forced them to fight for their lives, as they saw it. In three cases, the witnesses reported unpleasant odors in the bedroom at the time of the event. Importantly, in one case, the odor persisted long after the witness woke up.

Interesting? Yes. Intriguing? Definitely. Terrifying? For the witnesses, yes, undoubtedly. For me? I see it as further data suggesting more and more that the Men in Black phenomenon is one of paranormal proportions. “Secret agents” of the Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones type? Nope.

- THE KING OF ALL UNPAID MEDIA DEPARTMENT -
Mr. UFO Reveals the Truth about Paranormal Radio
By Sean Casteel
Timothy Green Beckley has been in the trenches of the paranormal and psychic wars since the 1960s. He is truly a seasoned veteran when it comes to exploring and speaking out on the strange, the weird, the real-life “Twilight Zones” of human coexistence alongside otherworldly ultra-terrestrials that continue to elude understanding and even definition. Along with his many years of writing and publishing in the field, Tim has also darkened the door of many a radio program in order to spread his unorthodox views to a world that seems forever poised between awe and simple disbelief.
“You know,” Tim said in an interview with me, “I always jokingly say that I am the ‘King of All Unpaid Media.’ Going back to 1964 or so, I have probably been on a thousand or more radio and TV programs. Also, as a publicist, I frequently offer guests that I think are very good on a particular subject to other shows. The shows then book the author or authority on a given subject directly because I believe in sharing the information. If somebody has something important to say or something relevant, it should be passed on to as large an audience as possible. I’ve been helping guests and talk shows find each other for about 40 years.”
Along with his friend and fellow journalist, Harold Salkin of Washington, D.C., Beckley even ran his own public relations and promotion firm called Artists and Celebrities International.  Among the duo’s paid clients were the pop artist Peter Max, legendary guitarist and recording artist Les Paul and various other musicians and entertainers.
“That was all long before, of course, there was an Internet or podcasts,” Beckley said. “But in those early days just about every major city did have a talk show host. The big one would have been Long John Nebel out of WOR in New York City.”
Nebel’s WOR was a 50,000 watt radio station that claimed to be heard in 32 states. “I remember one time I actually picked it up in Arizona,” Tim said. “In those days, a lot of radio stations went off the air at 11 o’clock or midnight at the latest. So Long John had that whole period between midnight and 5:30 A.M. when there were virtually no other signals going out in that part of the country. Which meant he had a very strong signal and what would be for those days a very large audience.”
Long John went on the air in the mid-1950s, broadcasting from a transmitter in Carteret, New Jersey. Radio had been dealt a heavy blow by the advent of television and its increasing popularity and WOR was willing to give a show about UFOs and other oddball topics at least a chance to succeed. Long John’s nightly audio parade of flying saucer contactees and paranormal believers was a surprise hit and he stayed on the air well into the 1970s.
Long John was also an early pioneer of the call-in radio show that gave listeners the opportunity to ask their own questions.
“But in those days,” Tim explained, “you could only hear his side of the conversation. He would have to repeat the caller’s question. When they were finally able to broadcast a two-way conversation, they had to implement a seven-second delay mechanism in case the person who called in used a bit of vulgarity or foul language or said something that Long John didn’t particularly like. “So Long John was actually one of the first – if not the first – talk show host to feature paranormal guests and telephone call-ins,” Tim continued. “He eventually moved from WOR to WNBC, where he got more money, but the signal was nowhere near as strong.”
Long John’s replacement at WOR was James Randi, better known as “The Amazing Randi,” a stage magician who later achieved fame as a scientific debunker of paranormal phenomena and occult beliefs.
“In those days,” Tim said with some amusement, “Randi was nowhere near as ‘skeptical’ as he is today or he would never have been able to get guests on. Today, who would do a program with Randi as the host unless you were a die-hard disbeliever in any of this? And there was a little bit of a feud between Long John and Randi. If you went on Randi’s show, you were not allowed to go on Long John’s. I don’t think there’s any such line in the sand today. I don’t think anyone has the clout to say that to a potential guest, that you can’t go on anyone else’s show, because you would just laugh in their face.”
Long John passed away in 1978 and his widow, Candy Jones, took over the program. Jones was a former model who claimed to have been a victim of government mind control experiments, which upped the ante of controversy for the program and helped to raise the show’s ratings.
“I was a guest on her program on a regular basis,” Tim said. “Usually on Sunday night.”
Which was only a small part of Tim’s long and rich history of being a radio talk show guest.
“I was doing this long before anyone else was,” he said. “I was traveling around the country appearing on radio and TV talk shows, traveling on my own pocket. But I paid my dues. I was on shows in San Diego and Pittsburg and Cleveland and Boston. Some of these shows had a fairly good audience and there were a select handful that liked the paranormal but in particular UFOs. This is where the contactees made their rounds. If they were in Cleveland, they knew there was a show they could easily get on. If they were in Chicago or St. Louis or Denver, there was always somebody in their little black book that they could call and get on a program.”
In those days, Beckley recalled, one was more likely to get a welcoming response from a given talk show host. “It’s not like today,” he said, “where you’re competing with dozens of other authors and speakers and people who are trying to promote something. When George Adamski or George Van Tassel came to town, and you were into the subject, it was something that you would tell your friends about and they would listen to the show and perhaps come out over the weekend for a lecture.
“I did what they call in political parlance ‘stumping,’” he continued. “I went from place to place and paid my dues. It was interesting. I met a lot of people and got a lot of good firsthand experiences and stories, some of which I followed up on. It got me out of my home base and into the field.”
Although one is almost never paid for appearing as a radio or TV talk show guest, the cost of Tim’s traveling was partially covered by selling his books and his UFO newsletters.
“It was enough to keep the home fires burning,” he said, “and it did help getting your name in front of the public. At one point, I had a mailing list of about 100,000 names of people who bought books and so forth. So we were rocking and rolling.”
But in the summer of 1987, when the landmark books “Communion” – Whitley Strieber’s first-person account of being abducted by aliens he called “The Visitors” – and “Intruders” – by alien abduction researcher Budd Hopkins – both hit bestseller lists around the country, a new era of media coverage of the UFO phenomenon began.

“Then I decided it was time for me to give up the mantle,” Tim said, “and let somebody else do it for a while. Whitley and Budd went out and did the ‘stumping’ and got a little bit of notoriety. The subject was in the news for quite some time. The subject has its waves. It goes up in popularity and then down again for a couple of years.”
In the 1960s, when Tim first started making the rounds of talk shows, outside of Long John Nebel and one or two other shows around the country there were no specifically paranormal programs. Now the Internet is full of paranormal-themed podcasts, and Tim is on the other side of the microphone ASKING the questions, along with his solidly supportive co-host, Tim R. Swartz. Their program is called “Exploring the Bizarre and is heard every Thursday night on the KCOR Digital Radio Network, beginning at 10 P.M. Eastern, 7 P.M. Pacific, providing two full hours of the latest and most interesting news about UFOs, aliens, ghosts – whatever strikes their supernatural fancy.
The programs are archived on the KCOR website within twelve hours if you miss hearing a show live. The recordings of the shows also are posted to YouTube under the moniker “Mr. UFO’s Secret Files,” along with about 80 other interviews, both audio and video.
And you can rest assured – as Tim’s warm and dulcet tones come out of the speakers on your home computer or mobile device – that you are listening to the voice of experience.

- A STRANGE AND DISTURBING REPORT DEPARTMENT -
Alleged Humanoids Reported in Southern Chile
Source: PLANETA UFO and Frentefantasma.org - Date: 02.11.2016

Strange entities standing between 2.5 to 3 meters tall have supposedly been seen by locals in recent years.

The "Lo que habita en las sombras" (What Dwells in the Shadows) YouTube broadcast published only days ago a strange case with paranormal overtones involving two siblings in the southern reaches of our country on December 16 [2015]. A young student identified a Miguel, 24, who studies at a college in Concepcion, went back to his home located in a rural sector of the Araucania Region to spend the years ‘end holidays with his family.

Only recently arrived, Miguel joined his brother Patricio, 14, on a bicycle trip through the neighboring woods on a particularly hot afternoon. An hour into the trip, they hid their bicycles in a bush to venture into the woods, looking for one of the many streams in the area to cool off. After finding the watering hole and resting for a few hours in the bucolic location, Miguel suggested that they head back home, as it was growing dark. However, when they retraced their steps down the same path they had taken, the siblings heard a strange sound behind them, similar to that of two stones crashing. When they turned around, they were startled to see two allegedly humanoid creatures staring at them fixedly. According to the description given, the beings stood three meters tall had long arms and a terrifying look to their features, highlighting a disproportionate mouth size. Their bodies, aside from being covered by what appeared to be tight green overalls, gave off a very intense aura of heat, similar to the sensation felt by standing next to an oven or campfire.

Miguel said that the strong impression made him stumble, falling backward to the ground, while his younger brother started sobbing, paralyzed by fear. With a great effort, after Miguel took his brother by the arm, both fled the scene, feeling the two strange beings in pursuit. However, the episode did not end there. After returning home and telling their mother what had happened, the same sound was heard outside. When Miguel looked through the window, he saw the two figures watching the house intently. The entities inspected the area for considerable time before vanishing into the forest.

This unusual account brings to mind a rather similar one recorded on 27 February 2010 (the same date as the devastating earthquake in central and southern Chile) at Cobquecura Beach in the country's 8th Region. As a homeowner identified as Carmen Carmona told the press: "At around 6:45 a.m., when I was opening the gate of my summer home, I decided to look at the ocean. At that same moment, three creatures appeared, heading into the sea. I called my husband and my sister, asking them if they were seeing what I was seeing. They said yes. We found it odd that someone would be on the beach at that time, since the entire town had taken to the hills because the authorities had given evacuation orders due to a possible tsunami. When we saw them, we noticed they were very tall, standing some 2.5 meters, were thin, and had a shiny dark blue color. We were very frightened, but my nephew happened to arrive at that moment and took us to a higher section of the city. What's odd is that a month before this incident, we saw a powerful light amid the mountains which illuminated our cabin almost completely."

- HOWLING AT THE MOON DEPARTMENT -

Isabella Burt, Georgia’s Real-Life Werewolf
By Greg Newkirk

After years of pop-culture conditioning to lycanthropes with rippling abs and typical teenage problems, it’s easy to forget that at one time, the threat of a hungry werewolf lurking the countryside was considered a very real and deadly serious ordeal. In fact, in the mid-1800s, terror gripped the state of Georgia when a werewolf caused panic-stricken farmers to melt their crosses into bullets and set off to kill the beast. It sounds like a tall tale, but today, you can still visit the creature’s grave.

The long-forgotten legend of Georgia’s real-life werewolf begins innocently enough with a young girl named Emily Isabelle Burt. Emily was the shyest and most-reserved child of the wealthy Burt family, prominent members of town now known as Woodland. When Emily’s father died, he left a hefty sum of money behind, and rather than spend her days looking after the children, Emily’s mother Mildred Owen Burt shipped them off to boarding school in Europe, freeing her to spend her days chatting with other socialites.

After a long semester in Europe, Emily returned home and it wasn’t long before the rest of her family started to notice that something about her wasn’t quite right with her. She looked sickly, with a million-mile stare, and complained that she was unable to sleep. As the days wore on, her mother began to realize that Emily had been slipping off into the nearby forest in the middle of the night. When confronted, Emily claimed that she couldn’t recall most of her midnight strolls. To make matters worse, she’d started to grow unsightly hair in odd places, and even strangers noticed that her teeth began to look more pointed, almost as if she were growing fangs. Mildred wrote the odd changes off as puberty, and vowed to keep a closer eye on her daughter.

Coincidentally, local farmers were dealing with some strange problems of their own. Throughout Talbot county, farmers were waking in the morning only to find their fields littered with the mangled carcasses of their livestock, seemingly the victims of a wolf attack. Together, the farmers concocted a plan to end the slayings once and for all, and started nightly hunting parties with the intention of capturing or killing the beast responsible. After weeks of failed attempts to slay the phantom wolf, the frustrated farmers resulted to their last resort: they asked the town weirdo for help.

Locals always whispered about the strange old man from Eastern Europe. Some claimed he dabbled in black magic, others said he was just crazy, but either way, he was an outsider. When the animal mutilations first began, no one listened when he told them he knew which creature was to blame. According to him, it was no regular animal – it was a werewolf.

With little else to go on and scores of dead animals to deal with, the farmers were finally ready to listen. Tracking the beast on any old night was a fruitless effort, the old man told them. Instead, they were to wait until the next full moon to resume their hunt. In the meantime, the old man instructed the farmers to take every silver crucifix they could find, melt them down, and use the metal to fashion bullets. As strange as his advice was, the farmers were out of options, and did as they were told.

Several weeks later, the group took to their fields by the light of the full moon. Just as the old man had said, the hunting party came across a frightening silhouette lurking in the distance. The creature was as big as a man, had a long snout, and walked on two legs. As its wolf-like ears twitched in the moonlight, the hunting party raised their rifles and took aim at the monster. As a cacophony of gunshots filled the night air, the werewolf let out a painful scream and fled into the forest. No one was sure where the creature was hit, but the old man’s crazy plan had worked.

Meanwhile, unbeknownst to the celebrating farmers, there was another hunt happening in the very same area. Mildred Owen Burt awoke to the sound of gunshots, only to discover that Emily’s bed was empty. Determined to get to the bottom of her daughter’s secretive midnight adventures, she lit a lantern and headed into the forest. After searching high and low, Mildred stumbled onto Emily’s unconscious body. A pool of blood surrounded her hand, and it appeared that she had been shot. Mildred did her best to stop the bleeding, and ran for help.

The following day, the local doctor patched up Emily’s wounds, but even he couldn’t explain what had happened. After the rumors of Emily’s “accident” and the farmers’ successful werewolf hunt began to collide in the local taverns, Mildred discovered a doctor in Paris who claimed to specialize in “lycanthropy”. With the sneaking suspicion that Emily might have been to blame for the rash of animal mutilations, Mildred sent her off to Paris in the hopes she might be cured.

According to all the legends, the attacks completely ceased from then on. Several years later, Emily Isabella Burt returned to Georgia, cured of her mysterious ailment, and lived out the rest of her life as a successful businesswoman and landlord. In 1911, at the age of 70, Isabella died and was buried in the Owens and Holmes cemetery in Talbot county. Her gravestone reads:

Thy form alone is all, thank God, That to the grave is given; For ise know thy soul the better part, Is safe, yes safe, is heaven.

While the legend of Georgia’s Werewolf Girl is hotly contested by locals who claim their great grandparents encountered the beast and skeptics who cite a lack of hard evidence in the story, one thing is for certain: to this day, there are numerous reports that the ghostly spirit of Emily Isabella Burt still roams the countryside by the light of the full moon. In werewolf form, of course.

If you’d like to pay your respects to the southern lycanthrope that time forgot, you can still visit the Grave of the Georgia Werewolf in Woodland, but if I were you, I might make a few silver bullets first, just in case.

- OH, BY THE WAY, YOUR WORLD IS DOOMED DEPARTMENT -

Man Meets Extraterrestrials Who Told Him How World Will End

An Irishman has told the terrifying tale of his abduction by aliens - and how they predicted the end of the world.

Retired carpenter Gerry Battles, 61, from Pallaskenry, Co Limerick, claims he was walking home after two Christmas drinks with a pal when the real-life ETs struck.

During the experience, he says he was paralysed, came face-to-face with a "cone-headed" extraterrestrial and travelled to the North Pole in the blink of an eye.

He also recalled being warned of earth's impending doom during the encounter on December 26, 2001, as he walked home from The Seven Sisters Pub in Kildimo.

He said: "I was only minutes away from my house. It was a clear, dry night. You could have read a book with the light off the night sky, but I wasn’t drawn by the light of the stars or the moon but by a bright, surgical, white light coming from the other end of the boreen."

After being drawn by the white light, Gerry remembers finding himself aboard a spacecraft with about 40 others — all in a subdued state, standing motionless like statues.

He told The Limerick Post: "They were all male, of different age groups, all standing shoulder to shoulder like mannequins.

"I remember one man next to me wearing a Columbo-style coat and hat. We were all in a state of paralysis, I could only move my eyes, so I couldn’t see much.

"The next thing I remember floating into another bigger chamber with a 360 degree viewing deck. It was then I saw the extraterrestrial.

"I couldn’t tell how big he was or even if he had arms or legs, all I remember is his big cone head and his beautiful, ginormous eyes.

"They were jet black, almost like mirrors.

"He spoke to me through telepathy and said: "you are not terrified like the others".

"No, I am not. Should I be?" Gerry asked.

The alien then quizzed the Limerick grandfather about what he would like to see.

"The North Pole", came his instant reply.

In the blink of an eye, they were transported to the North Pole, which Gerry says was "like driving through a snowstorm at 500 miles an hour."

He admits that anyone he has revealed this fantastical story to thinks he is mad and laughs when asked if he has any history of mental illness.

"No, not at all,” he replies.

He said those who don't believe his tale are "naive and have small imaginations" before revealing the alien warned him that mankind will go the same way as the dinosaurs when a giant asteroid smashes into earth.

Gerry says the alien told him mankind has come a long way but its time is running out.

"In 850 years from now, a giant asteroid the size of Munster is going to obliterate your planet. The asteroid will approach your planet from the 35th Quadrant," the alien said.

"We are four million light years more advanced than you are. We have been observing you for Millennia. In all that time you have only excelled at two things — global warfare and lying to your own species."

"You must use the force. Be one with the force. Harness the force," the alien advised.

Gerry said the alien also warned us not to trust governments or the banks as they have been "lying to us since day one".

He has no recollection of how long the abduction lasted and had no memory of it afterwards until the coat he was wearing that night turned on the roof of the Regional Hospital.

He said: "I have no idea how it got there. It was only after having the coat returned to me that the events of December 26, 2001, started to come back to me."

Gerry is hopeful his story will reach the world’s scientific community and said: "The truth is definitely out there."
