Occult Secrets Of The Third Reich
SHOCKING REVELATIONS DETAIL HITLER’S FASCINATION WITH OCCULTISM AND THE SUPERNATURAL

Some historians believe Hitler was uniquely evil, wicked beyond even the human capacity for wickedness. Many of the impressions regarding the Fuhrer’s involvement with “demonic forces” can be attributed to such pop culturebooks such as “Morning of the Magicians,” (1960) “The Spear of Destiny,” (1972) and even such works of cinematography magic as “The Raiders of the Lost Ark.” (1981) But what is the truth about the fire and fury surrounding the National Socialist movement which placed the “racially pure” Aryian race above the rest of the German population, as well as those citizens of other countries?

Much has been written regarding the notion that Hitler and his hand picked echelon of SS officers were deeply influenced by occult ritualism and tradition. For the first time, we present the best procurable proof of a Nazi Supernatural Connection that called for the collection and veritable “worship” of powerful artifacts that supported their insane racist agenda. That included a highly dangerous effort to rewrite the history books and “re-program” the German people so that they could establish that this seemingly bizarre Nazi agenda was truly the fulfillment of European mystery traditions as taught in some Secret Societies.

— ** It is said that Hitler possessed a religious artifact called the Spear of Destiny, believed to have been used to pierce the side of Christ as he hung dying on the cross. Hitler felt that the spear had come into his hands as a sign of his own destiny as the Antichrist as prophesied in the Book of Revelation and by Nostradamus.

— ** Did Nordic-looking “star people” really make contact with German scientists and weapons designers?

— ** Did some hidden race contact the Nordic beauties of the mediumistic Vril Society and provide them with the technology to travel through time and space?

— ** Did the Nazis search for and perhaps even rediscover long lost cities where Aryan gods were said to dwell, that the Nazis occult undergirding was superior to the “merely mortal” strength and firepower of their enemies?

Nothing Hitler did existed in a moral vacuum. His unfathomable cruelty seems to have sprung full-blown from the bowels of hell and was not just a product of human hubris and madness. This book will tell you why that is so from the perspective of several different authors.

- RIP GOOD FRIEND DEPARTMENT -

J.C. Johnson Passes

Early on Saturday, February 3, 2018, word started sweeping through the cryptozoology and Bigfoot community of the grave condition of Jc Johnson, the founder and President of Crypto Four Corners, who had been placed in a medically induced coma due to an illness in his lungs.

By the afternoon, it was confirmed that Johnson had passed away, 2/3/2018, at 12:40 pm, due to complications from pneumonia.

JC Johnson, who some of his friends called the “Indiana Jones of Cryptozoology,” founded and lead a group of dozens of enthusiastic and determined researchers focused on a variety of strange and mysterious creatures in the Four Corners area of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah. This group’s research included Bigfoot, giant snakes, living dinosaurs, werewolves, dragons, giant birds, pterodactyls, centaurs, Native American “Skin Walkers,” and other cryptids frequently reported in this wild and remote region. Johnson had been a professional river and outdoor guide for more than 20 years. His experience, knowledge, attunement to nature and undying faith make him a driving force in the field of cryptozoological and unexplained phenomena research.

Mark Parra writes:

    Rest in Peace, Jc Johnson.
Some ten years ago I began my journey into the Bigfoot field researching genre. Back then I really didn’t know what I was doing, and was green behind the ears on knowledge of the creature. What I did know was that my first experience and encounter with the Sasquatch species was real. One of the first men I met in the field was Jc. He had more knowledge and expertise than anyone else I would come to meet in Sasquatch. He knew the southwest like the back of his hand, and like me, he had formal training in the ways of the Medicine Man. He knew the Sasquatch, and knew it’s behaviors, and our friendship helped me to grow as a researcher. I will always be thankful for the advice and time he gave me as a fellow researcher. One of the biggest lessons he taught me was, ” If you need yellow and red circles to prove your point, its probably not worth it.” The Bigfoot Community in America has lost one of its all time greats.

God Speed Jc, your Spirit Horse awaits you !

 David Talaga writes:

It truly devastates me to bring this news to you as a member of Cryptids Four Corners, our founder Jc Johnson- Left this earthly plane for the StarPath and onto other journeys that we won’t be on with him any longer. Prayers and condolences go out to all the other members, friends and family of JC! A very worldly, open-minded man, that has been with us since the beginning of our journey and a huge mentor in our life. Will miss you big guy and see you on the other side!

Jay A. Bachochin writes:

Jc Johnson was the real deal. A extremely kind and wonderful person. A staple in the Bigfoot world but also someone I’d call a friend. He would take my phone call anytime so I could bounce my looney encounters/evidence off him. R.I.P. my ol’ friend, Godspeed!

Jc’s daughter Laura Hugo writes:

Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers. My dad put up one hell of a fight. Around 12:40 today he passed away. I am in shock and am utterly heartbroken. He is a massive part of my being and I’m so proud to be his daughter. I will have more details about what’s next for those who knew him in the near future. He is at peace and this earth will never be the same without Jc Johnson walking through it’s deserts and swamps or kayaking it’s rivers. I love you, dad.

Jc Johnson was the CEO and President of Crypto Four Corners. He lived in International Falls, Minnesota since June 19, 2017. His hometown was Teec Nos Pos, Arizona.

Condolences to all of Jc’s family and friends.

How UFO Reports Change With the Technology of the Times
By Greg Eghigian

In 1896, newspapers throughout the United States began reporting accounts of mysterious airships flying overhead. Descriptions varied, but witnesses frequently invoked the century’s great technological achievements. Some sources reported dirigibles powered by steam engines. Others saw motorized, winged crafts with screw propellers. Many recalled a flying machine equipped with a powerful searchlight.
As technologies of flight evolve, so do the descriptions of unidentified flying objects. The pattern has held in the 21st century as sightings of drone-like objects are reported, drawing concern from military and intelligence officials about possible security threats.
While puzzling over the appearance of curious things overhead may be a constant, how we have done so has changed over time, as the people doing the puzzling change. In every instance of reporting UFOs, observers have called on their personal experiences and prevailing knowledge of world events to make sense of these nebulous apparitions. In other words, affairs here on earth have consistently colored our perceptions of what is going on over our heads.
Reports of weird, wondrous, and worrying objects in the skies date to ancient times. Well into the 17th century, marvels such as comets and meteors were viewed through the prism of religion—as portents from the gods and, as such, interpreted as holy communications.
By the 19th century, however, “celestial wonders” had lost most of their miraculous aura. Instead, the age of industrialization transferred its awe onto products of human ingenuity. The steamboat, the locomotive, photography, telegraphy, and the ocean liner were all hailed as “modern wonders” by news outlets and advertisers. All instilled a widespread sense of progress—and opened the door to speculation about whether objects in the sky signaled more changes.
Yet nothing fueled the imagination more than the possibility of human flight. In the giddy atmosphere of the 19th century, the prospect of someone soon achieving it inspired newspapers to report on tinkerers and entrepreneurs boasting of their supposed successes.
The wave of mysterious airship sightings that began in 1896 did not trigger widespread fear. The accepted explanation for these aircraft was terrestrial and quaint: Some ingenious eccentric had built a device and was testing its capabilities.
But during the first two decades of the 20th century, things changed. As European powers expanded their militaries and nationalist movements sparked unrest, the likelihood of war prompted anxiety about invasion. The world saw Germany—home of the newly developed Zeppelin—as the likeliest aggressor. Military strategists, politicians, and newspapers in Great Britain warned of imminent attack by Zeppelins.
The result was a series of phantom Zeppelin sightings by panicked citizens throughout the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand in 1909, then again in 1912 and 1913. When war broke out in August 1914, it sparked a new, more intense wave of sightings. Wartime reports also came in from Canada, South Africa, and the United States. In England, rumors that German spies had established secret Zeppelin hangars on British soil led vigilantes to scour the countryside.
In the age of aviation, war and fear of war have consistently fueled reports of unidentified flying objects. A year after Nazi Germany’s surrender, Sweden was beset by at least a thousand accounts of peculiar, fast-moving objects in the sky. Starting in May 1946, residents described seeing missile- or rocket-like objects in flight, which were dubbed “ghost rockets” because of their fleeting nature. Rockets peppering Swedish skies was well within the realm of possibility—in 1943 and 1944, a number of V-1 and V-2 rockets launched from Germany had inadvertently crashed in the country.
At first, intelligence officials in Scandinavia, Britain, and the United States took the threat of ghost rockets seriously, suspecting that the Soviets might be experimenting with German rockets they had captured. By the autumn of 1946, however, they had concluded it was a case of postwar mass hysteria.
The following summer, a private pilot by the name of Kenneth Arnold claimed to have seen nine flat objects flying in close formation near Mt. Rainier. Looking back on the event years later, Arnold noted, “What startled me most at this point was the fact that I could not find any tails on them. I felt sure that, being jets, they had tails, but figured they must be camouflaged in some way so that my eyesight could not perceive them. I knew the Air Force was very artful in the knowledge and use of camouflage.”
Given the name “flying saucers” by an Associated Press correspondent, they quickly appeared throughout the United States. Over the following two weeks, newspapers covered hundreds of sightings.
News of these reports circled the globe. Soon, sightings occurred in Europe and South America. In the wake of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, atomic bomb tests, and tensions between the United States and the USSR, speculation ran rampant.
Finding themselves on the front line of the Cold War, Germans on both sides of the Iron Curtain considered the United States the most likely culprit. West Germans thought the discs were experimental missiles or military aircraft, while Germans in the communist Eastern bloc considered it more likely that the whole thing was a hoax devised by the American defense industry to whip up support for a bloated budget.
Others had more elaborate theories. In 1950, former U.S. Marine Air Corps Major Donald Keyhoe published an article and book titled The Flying Saucers Are Real, in which he contended that aliens from another planet were behind the appearance of the UFOs. Based on information from his informants, Keyhoe contended that government authorities were aware of this, but wished to keep the matter a secret for fear of inciting a general panic.
Such a claim about UFOs was new. To be sure, at the turn of the century during the phantom airship waves, some had speculated that the vessels spotted might be from another planet. Already at that time, people were deeply interested in reports of prominent astronomers observing artificial “canals” and structures on Mars. Evidence of Martian civilizations made it seem conceivable that our interplanetary neighbors had finally decided to pay us a visit. Still, relatively few bought into this line of reasoning.
But by going further, Major Keyhoe struck a chord in a timely fashion. In the aftermath of World War II and over the course of the 1950s, it seemed that science and engineering were making remarkable strides. In particular, the development of guided rockets and missiles, jet airplanes, atomic and hydrogen bombs, nuclear energy, and satellites signaled to many that there were no limits—not even earth’s atmosphere—to technological progress. And if our planet were on the verge of conquering space, it would hardly be a stretch to imagine that more advanced civilizations elsewhere were capable of even greater feats.
But all this raised a question. Why were the extraterrestrials visiting us now?
Keyhoe believed that aliens had been keeping us under observation for a long time. Witnessing the recent explosions of atomic weapons, they had decided the inhabitants of planet Earth had finally reached an advanced enough stage to be scrutinized more closely. Still, there was no reason for alarm. “We have survived the stunning impact of the Atomic Age,” Keyhoe concluded. “We should be able to take the Interplanetary Age, when it comes, without hysteria.”
The flying saucer era had begun. Not everyone would remain as sanguine as Keyhoe. As concerns over global nuclear annihilation and environmental catastrophe grew during the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s, claims about UFOs took on ever more ominous tones.
Times changed. And so, again, did the UFO phenomenon.

President Clinton's Interest in UFOs
By William J. Birnes, Joel Martin

In 1999, the House of Representatives passed a bill that would have required across-the-board cuts to most federal agencies and departments, including the Department of Education, which President Clinton learned about as he was about to meet with a delegation of educators. The budget cuts also meant that teachers would probably not be getting any raises, something that irked Clinton to the point where, in an impromptu and unscripted remark, he said, channeling Ronald Reagan’s famous statement, “If we were being attacked by space aliens, we wouldn’t be playing these kinds of games.” Funny how when Ronald Reagan said the same thing to the United Nations, folks commented that Reagan sure knew how to illustrate a point. When Clinton made his statement, Rush Limbaugh thundered into his microphone, “What’s he going to do, arrange one?”

Just three years earlier, while on a trip to Ireland where he was visiting a very troubled Belfast, Clinton read a letter he received from a child named Ryan, who had asked him about what he knew regarding stories of a UFO crash at Roswell, New Mexico. Clinton hadn’t come to talk about UFOs. He was trying to make a point regarding how children can be victimized by political violence. In front of his Belfast audience, Clinton said to Ryan, “No, as far as I know, an alien spacecraft did not crash in Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947.” But then he added, to the delight of his audience, “and Ryan, if the United States Air Force did recover alien bodies, they didn’t tell me about it, either, and I want to know.”

Clinton did want to know, Webster Hubbell, Clinton’s associate attorney general, wrote in his own memoir. As AAG, Hubbell claimed that President Clinton asked him to find out all that he could about two things: who killed JFK and what the government knew about UFOs. He reported to the president after being stonewalled by the relevant agencies that there was a secret government that closely holds secrets to which the president doesn’t even have access.

However, in 1993, the year Clinton was inaugurated, and as pressure was mounting on the CIA to confirm that it had followed UFO stories, Director of Central Intelligence James Woolsey “ordered another review of all Agency files on UFOs. Using CIA records compiled from that review, the study he ordered traced CIA interest and involvement in the UFO controversy from the late 1940s to 1990.” The report reveals that despite official statements to the contrary regarding the government’s interest in what happened at Roswell, the air force did, in fact, open up an investigative unit, known first as Project SAUCER and then Project SIGN, to “collect, collate, evaluate, and distribute within the government all information relating to such sightings, on the premise that UFOs might be real and of national security concern.”

The CIA report reveals that the agency followed the air force investigations into UFOs, especially the invasion of Washington, D.C. airspace in 1952, and the reports of pilots and radar operators who said they were seeing images they could not identify and did not seem to represent conventional aircraft. The report continues to explain the nature of CIA involvement in UFO cases over the decades and, without making the point explicitly, implies that despite any official denials, and, moreover, very relevant to the background of George H. W. Bush, the agency was very active in UFO research, had compiled voluminous files on UFOs, and had much to share with any American president, should the DCI have reason to do so. The report must have been a real eye-opener to President Clinton, not so much because of what truths behind cases it revealed or did not reveal, but simply that the files that the president had dispatched Webster Hubbell to locate, files that Hubbell said had been kept from him, now, albeit sanitized, were available to him.

According to Jon Austin in the UK’s Express, as far back as Bill Clinton’s first term in office in 1993, Hillary Clinton was talking up UFOs with Laurence Rockefeller, who funded initiatives to research UFOs almost as a way to counter what the Condon Report had argued as well as making its own case for the study of the possibility of extraterrestrial visitations.

“From early 1993 the businessman began a lengthy approach to Bill Clinton for disclosure, including files held by the CIA, in what became the Rockefeller Initiative.” Further, Austin writes, “During the Clinton family seven-day vacation in August 1995 at the Rockefeller Teton Ranch outside of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, the 85-year-old billionaire privately briefed the President and First Lady on UFOs and his hopes.

“No one else knows exactly what was said, but at the time Mr. Clinton, who had a personal interest in UFOs and was frustrated at the lack of information he could glean on it, was carrying out a review of how the Government handled confidential material.” For a scientific review of the Laurence Rockefeller conference on UFOs at Pocantico Hills, the basis for the Rockefeller conclusions about the need to research the UFO phenomenon further, see Peter A. Sturrock’s analysis "The UFO Enigma," in which Rockefeller himself explains the purpose of his initiative.

The Clinton perspective on UFOs, however, took a dramatic turn in March 1997, the time of the Phoenix Lights, the arrival of the Hale-Bopp comet, and the Heaven’s Gate mass suicide, when President Clinton himself would become involved in the most media covered UFO appearance since the 1952 invasion over Washington, D.C.

The Phoenix Lights

On March 13, 1997, the stage was set for thousands of witnesses across the southwest scanning the sky for the appearance of the Hale-Bopp comet — for comet watchers, a once-in-a-lifetime event. But it wasn’t just a comet that residents of Phoenix saw on that warm March night. The story actually began before 8:30 p.m. when witnesses in Henderson, Nevada, at the Arizona border reported a strange sight, six orange lights in a triangular pattern slowly moving toward the southeast and making no sound except for what the observer said was the wind. About fifteen minutes later another witness, this time behind the wheel of his car, saw a formation of lights heading his way as he drove north. He headed home, retrieved binoculars, and kept watching the lights as they headed south and west towards Phoenix.

Within minutes [of these] sighting, folks just north of Phoenix began seeing the lights off in the distance to the north-northwest, heading their way. It passed right over private streets, possibly as low as 100-150 feet, and traveling slowly toward the south. Then it seemed to stop dead in the air. It hovered. Then it picked up motion and continued through the narrow valleys toward the outskirts of the city suburbs where more people, some on the roads, some standing on their balconies, spotted the object, which many people described as unearthly.

One of the witnesses was Arizona governor Fife Symington, who said in 2007 and on "UFO Hunters" that despite what he said at his faux news conference when he had his chief of staff dress up in an alien garb and show up as the explanation for the lights, Symington himself saw the 8:30 lights from his own backyard and said they were not a conventional craft because the object he saw flew too slowly for an airplane, did not have the thwapping sound of rotor blades like a helicopter, and was completely noiseless. A plane would have stalled at the speed it was moving, a helicopter would have shown distinct navigation lights and made a noise, especially at the low altitude at which it was flying, and the lights made the craft larger than a football field. Also, Symington said that as commander in chief of the Arizona National Guard and Air National Guard, he called Luke Air Force Base and was told no military craft were in the sky at 8:30 over Phoenix. Thus the lights were not confirmed as military by the Air National Guard.

About two hours after the first sighting of the lights, a second set of lights flew over the same area, causing even more confusion and frenzy than the first set. Were the 10:30 lights over Phoenix a different object, the same object returning, or flares from air force or National Guard planes scrambled to establish a conventional explanation for the 8:30 lights? At first, when the 10:30 lights appeared, residents called Sky Harbor air traffic control again and were told that no planes were picked up on radar. Residents also called Luke Air Force Base again and were told none of their planes were in the air. However, after the initial responses from Luke AFB, the air force said that the lights were ground illumination flares from a flight of A-10 Warthogs over the Goldwater test range. Months later, the Maryland Air National Guard announced that there were planes in the air on the night of March 13, 1997, from the 104th fighter squadron flying out of Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona as the unit that dropped LUU-2B/B ground illumination flares in an exercise over the Goldwater test range. CIA UFO consultant Dr. Bruce Maccabee conducted a triangulation analysis of the events and said that it was indeed likely that the second formation of lights were flares that could be seen even though they were many miles south of the Phoenix area at 10:30. However, photo analyst Jim Dilettoso of Arizona’s Village Labs said that after he had performed a spectral analysis of the lights, he determined that the colors of the lights were inconsistent with flares.

Witness and award-winning filmmaker Dr. Lynne Kitei has said that the 10:30 lights were not flares and that subsequent flare-dropping demonstrations by the air force to prove that flares were what people in Phoenix saw on the night of March 13, 1997, showed, again through an analysis of the aerial performance, the colors and the residue actually proved that what witnesses saw were not flares. The controversy over the nature of the lights still remains today.

- FOOLISH HUMANS PLAYING IN GODS DOMAIN DEPARTMENT -

Scientist Claims Human-Chimpanzee Hybrid Was Created

A Human-chimpanzee hybrid was born in a Florida lab 100 years ago before being killed by panicked doctors, claims a renowned scientist.

Evolutionary psychologist Gordon Gallup coined the term “humanzee” which refers to a human-chimp crossbreed – a scientifically possible hybridisation which was attempted throughout the 20th century.

Gallup, who developed the famous mirror "self-recognition" test which proved primates could acknowledge their own reflection, claims his former university professor told him that a humanzee baby was born at a research facility where he used to work.

Gallup said: “One of the most interesting cases involved an attempt which was made back in the 1920s in what was the first primate research centre established in the U.S. in Orange Park, Florida.

“They inseminated a female chimpanzee with human semen from an undisclosed donor and claimed not only that pregnancy occurred but the pregnancy went full term and resulted in a live birth.

“But in the matter of days, or a few weeks, they began to consider the moral and ethical considerations and the infant was euthanised.”

Gallup said the professor worked at Yerkes before the research centre moved to Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia in 1930.

He added: “He told me the rumour was true. And he was a credible scientist in his own right.”

Ivanov's Experiments

Gallup's statements show that there has been a decades-long interest in the possibilities of a human/great ape hybrid. The controversial Russian biologist Ilya Ivanovich Ivanov was an early 20th century researcher that specialized in creating and studying hybrid creatures. Ivanov perfected the technique of using artificial insemination to create these hybrids and was well known at the beginning the century for his work in breeding horses.

In 1910 he presented a paper to the World Congress of Zoologists in which he suggested the possibility of creating a human-ape hybrid through artificial insemination. Fourteen years later while working at Pasteur Institute in Paris, he got his chance. He obtained permission from the Institute's directors to use its primate research station in Kindia, French Guinea, as the laboratory for his experiments and got $10,000 from the Russian Academy of Sciences to pay for them.

In March of 1926 Ivanov arrived at the station only to find it had no sexually-mature chimpanzees to work with. So in November 1926, he traveled to the botanical gardens in Conakry, French Guinea, and set up shop there. Several adult chimpanzees from the interior of the country were brought to Conakry and Ivanov artificially inseminated three female chimpanzees with human sperm. None became pregnant.

Ivanov was also interested in trying to impregnate human females with chimp sperm, but officials in New Guinea balked at this idea. When he returned to Russian in 1927 he designed an experiment to try and impregnate five female volunteers, but was hampered by the lack of a male chimp to provide the sperm. In 1930 Ivanov fell out of favor with the government, was arrested and spent the rest of his life in exile in Kazakhstan where he died in 1932 without doing any additional ape/human hybrid studies.

Rumors of other experiments to create a humanzee persist. One story from the 1960's has a female chimp at a laboratory in China being successfully impregnated with human sperm, but dying before giving birth.

Gallup’s term humanzee became well known in the 1970s after the emergence of a creature known as Oliver – a bald chimp who walked on his hind legs.

But tests conducted on Oliver in 1996 proved once and for all that the animal had 48 chromosomes and was therefore not a human-hybrid.

Gallup said: “It was proven that Oliver was not a humanzee despite the fact that he looked very similar in terms of assuming an upright posture and having a protruding nose and all kinds of other things.”

And Gallup, who teaches biopsychology at the University at Albany in New York, insists that humans can be crossbred with all the great apes – not just chimpanzees.

He said: “All of the available evidence both fossil, paleontological and biochemical, including DNA itself, suggests that humans can also breed with gorillas and orangutans.

“Humans and all three of the great apes species are all descended from a single common ape-like ancestry.

“I’ve also coined what would be the appropriate terms to refer to human-gorilla hybrids and human-orangutan hybrids which would be a ‘hurilla’ and a 'hurang'.”

Asked whether he would be in favour of a humanzee being brought into the world, Gallup replied: “I think it’s a fascinating question and I think it would have profound psychological and biological implications.

“But whether the cost would justify the benefit is the other question in this equation.”

-- THERE WERE GIANTS IN THE EARTH DEPARTMENT -

The Tall Ones and the Ancient Mounds of Pennsylvania
By Jason Jarrell and Sarah Farmer

This article is dedicated to the memory of John William Dillon, who kept truth and dreams alive.

During the Early Woodland Period (1000—200 B.C.), the Adena people constructed extensive burial mounds and earthworks throughout the Ohio Valley in Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and West Virginia. Many of the skeletal remains found in these mounds by early Antiquarians and 20th Century Archaeologists were of powerfully built individuals reaching between 6.5 and 8 feet in height. It is the record of these remains, which has given rise to the subject of the ancient “giants” of the Ohio Valley. While doing research for a book on this subject over the last several years, the authors were struck by how little of the archaeology of some regions is freely accessible and available to the public. One of those areas is the state of Pennsylvania, where the Carnegie Museum destroyed countless burial mounds without filing comprehensive reports in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Many of the mounds wrecked by the Carnegie are only known to the public from old press reports, such as the following published in The Sun on December 8th, 1893:

“This mound, which was originally about 100 feet long and more than 12 feet high, has been somewhat worn down by time. It is on the J.R. Secrist farm in South Huntington township…The most interesting feature in the recent excavation was the mummified torso of the human body…Portions of the bones dug up and the bones in the legs, Prof. Peterson declares, are those of a person between eight and nine feet in height.”

In order to add some clarity to the subjects of the mound builders and large skeletal remains from Pennsylvania, the authors reviewed a considerable amount of archaeological literature from the state and incorporated the information into several chapters of Ages of the Giants: A Cultural History of the Tall Ones in Prehistoric America (Serpent Mound Books and Press, 2017). Perhaps the most famous instance of press reports describing a large skeleton from a Pennsylvania mound is a case from Union Township in Washington County, Pennsylvania. In 1932, archaeologist George Fisher excavated the mound after he was informed that amateurs were engaged in heavy looting at the site. This situation attracted hundreds of spectators, and Fisher’s work became a subject of daily discussion by the local media. One discovery in particular was regularly reported at this time:

“One of the most interesting reports that will go into the archives is that on the body of a giant, seven feet five inches tall. This titan was found on the fifth level of the clay mound where the bodies were sandwiched between 11 layers of sandstone. The majority of the adults measured between five feet 10 inches and six feet three inches in stature…”

--The Daily Republican, 9/15/1932

“One of the skeletons of these mighty men is seven feet, five inches in length, and even the remains of the women and children show them to have been of tremendous stature. Heavy, primitive faces must have topped their mammoth bodies, Fisher says, for all of the skulls are heavy boned, with massive jaws and strong teeth that could have ripped meat into shreds…”

--The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, 9/14/1932

Over the last decade, these types of press reports have caused several researchers to seek out more information on the mound excavated by Fisher, but until now it has remained largely a mystery. The authors found that the site is known in the archaeological literature as the Pollock’s Hill stone mound. There is some debate over the age and cultural affiliations of the mound. Archaeologist and Adena expert Don W. Dragoo considered the Pollock’s Hill Cairn to belong to an Adena stone mound sub-tradition (1). In more modern times archaeologists have re-evaluated some of the mounds that Dragoo included in this cultural taxon and have suggested that they could actually date to Late Woodland times, several hundred years after the age of Adena (2).

One reason for the difficulty in finding professionally documented information on the Pollock’s Hill Cairn is the fact that Fisher himself did not publish the official report. Instead, Donald Cadzow published the report in 1933 (3), utilizing information taken directly from Fisher’s field notes. According to Cadzow’s document, Fisher unearthed an extended adult skeleton covered with packed mud and rocks in the northwestern portion of the mound, which is numbered burial 39 in the field notes. Regarding this burial, Cadzow’s report states, “As the bones were in poor condition, it was impossible to obtain exact measurements. Their size, however, indicated a very large heavy person, much larger than the other burials in the mound.” (3, p. 5)

Following the excavations, the bones of over 40 skeletons from Pollock’s Hill were transported to the Museum in Harrisburg and then to the Smithsonian Institution in Washington. On October 12th, 1932, The Pittsburg Press reported that Donald Cadzow himself was the person in charge of transporting the skeletons from Finleyville to the museum, noting, “One skeleton making the trip with Cadzow to the capital is a giant 7 feet 5 inches in height.” The information in the article came from an interview with Cadzow, who took the opportunity to condemn the Carnegie Museum’s handling of Pennsylvania’s prehistory. Artifacts on record from the Pollock’s Hill Cairn include two rolled copper tubular beads, bone hairpins, stemmed and tanged points, celts, one stone mortar, and perforated bear canine teeth.

Large skeletal remains were also recovered from the McKees Rocks Mound, which once overlooked the confluence of the Ohio River and Cartier’s Creek at Stowe Township in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Frank Gerodette excavated the McKees Rocks Mound on behalf of the Carnegie Museum in 1896. Unfortunately, several controversies lead to Gerodette’s resignation from the Carnegie and permanent retreat from archaeology before a complete report was filed for the excavations. In Ages of the Giants (4), we utilized Gerodette’s field notes, as well as the research of 5 different archaeologists who reviewed the field notes, artifacts, and bones from the mound to recreate the discoveries at this important site. Relevant sources for the information provided here—as well as much more info on the site—can be found in the book.

The McKees Rocks Mound was 16 or 17 feet in height at the time of excavation and 85 feet in diameter. There were over 30 burials in the mound of extended, cremated, and bone bundled human remains, many of which were found in stone cist tombs. The mound was built up in three construction phases, each of which took an unknown length of time to complete. These phases span the time of Adena to the end of the Middle Woodland Period. The oldest or primary phase of the mound was a 3.5 feet high tumulus made of river sand and clay, which covered the skeleton of an Adena female 6 ft. 2 inches in length. Artifacts with this burial include an adze, four deer or elk scapula awls, a copper sheath for an imitation bear canine, 357 columnella shell beads, 153 marginella shell beads, antler and bone flaking tools, and one slate reel-shaped gorget.

Burial 20 was a female in a sandstone cist tomb. Referring to this burial, Frank Gerodette’s field notes mention, “the person could not have been less than 6' 6" high”. The skull of this burial had been crushed down into the breastbones, and the bones of the feet were missing. According to the historian George Thornton Fleming (who carefully documented the excavations), the remains would have “measured seven feet in height” with the feet and neck intact (5, p. 30). There were several other skeletons from McKees Rocks, which measured between 6 ft. 2 inches and 6 ft. 4 inches in length.

In northwestern Pennsylvania, many burial mounds have been attributed to a Hopewell-influenced tradition, which some archaeologists have referred to as the Squawkie Hill Culture (6). Squawkie Hill mounds are also found in northeastern Ohio, the Upper Ohio Valley in West Virginia, and New York State. These mounds date to the Middle Woodland period, usually between 100 and 500 A.D. Squawkie Hill sites in Pennsylvania include the Sugar Run, Corydon, Irvin, and Cornplanter mound groups. At the Cornplanter Run site in Warren County, Edmund Carpenter investigated two surviving mounds in 1941 (7). Carpenter found the mounds to contain circular stone vaults composed of stone slabs, also featuring stone roofing. The tombs were all empty, but one still contained a blade, red ocher, and calcined bone. According to Carpenter’s report, a local artifact collector named Dudley A. Martin had looted the tombs prior to his investigations. Fortunately, Martin himself had gone public with his findings in the January 27th, 1937 issue of The Altoona Tribune:

“Dudley A. Martin, octogenarian and collector of Indian relics, states that he was present at the opening of some curious burial mounds on the Cornplanter Indian reservation in Warren County nearly fifty years ago. These barrows were walled up inside and had outlets to the air, so much so that on opening one mound it was found to be full of rattlesnakes…In one mound was found the skeleton of a chief seven feet tall, wearing much barbaric adornment and jewelry.”

There are many similar accounts from burial mounds featuring traits similar to the Cornplanter Mounds along the Pennsylvania—New York State border region:

“…just over the line in Genesee Township, a mound about fourteen feet in diameter, walled up by a stone cairn, about three or four feet high…Some curious persons dug into the side of this mound and brought to light the skeleton of a man of gigantic size, also the bones of a dog, nearly all of the bones crumbing upon exposure to the air…With the bones were found numerous flint arrow-heads, and some stone ornaments, and about a pint of small shells, which also soon disintegrated upon exposure.”

----Michael A Leeson, History of the Counties of McKean, Elk, Cameron and Potter, Pennsylvania, J.H. Beers & Co., 1860.

“In December, 1886, W. H. Scoville, of Andrews Settlement, discovered a mound at Ellisburg. On exploring it were found parts of the skeleton of a man measuring between seven and eight feet.”

--Michael A Leeson, History of the Counties of McKean, Elk, Cameron and Potter, Pennsylvania, J.H. Beers & Co., 1860.

“This mound was opened by vandals about 25 years ago, and entire skeletons in a good state of preservation were tossed aside or carried off by schoolboys. Many of the remains were found near the surface, covered by broad flagstones, while others were found at a considerable depth. Great quantities of arrow heads, discoidals, stone axes and beads of various kinds were discovered with the bones. Some of the skeletons were of such large proportions as to indicate that the people who lived in the days when the mound was built were a race of giants.”

--Pittsburgh Daily Post, October 7th, 1895.

Archaeological research conducted in recent years indicates that the cultural history of Western Pennsylvania—including the Adena, Hopewell, and Late Woodland mounds—is in need of revision. Perhaps as these new investigations progress, more information on obscure and little known sites will become available.

Argentina: Strange Creature Lurks in Moreno's National Park

*** Lights and prints reveal intense extraterrestrial activity***

A strange succession of phenomena attributed to the extraterrestrial presence, manifesting itself through lights, prints, vehicle sightings and the unique presence of a strange animal that preys in the region, frightening locals and fishermen alike, has its epicenter in a biosphere and dam located in Moreno, barely 40 kilometers from downtown Capital Federal.

The intensive work performed by a group of researchers of this sort of phenomenon delved into the facts as part of an arduous fieldwork process. While no conclusive results were obtained, it was possible to ascertain that the area has a propensity toward the alien activity captured on images, and traces that suggest an otherworldly presence.

Daniel Valverdi, Jorge Marrón and Daniel Szauter, members of Código Ovni, began investigating the events surrounding the “Reserva Natural Los Robles”, a biosphere belonging to the municipality of Moreno, and the Roggero Dam, with the hope of unraveling the mysteries recorded at this location.

The researchers set their magnifying glasses to work to the West of the connurbated area nearly 2 years ago, convinced that this was an ideal location to expand their UFO research. It was here that the came across signs and eyewitness accounts suggesting mysterious activities of a possible alien nature.

In a conversation with Expedientes Secretos, Valverdi set forth the details of the investigation, which remains active and has had two outings aimed at unraveling the hidden secrets at the heart of the nature park, but which evidently, have their origin in the skies above.

“The first prints we started working with at the site were left behind by something that didn’t quite manage to land on the ground, but did leave circular marks on the grass, and apparently released a magnetic material on which we continue to work,” said Valverdi, who believes that these marks are the remains of UFO visitations.

However, these marks on the ground are also the result of another type of activity that is being studied by the group, based on the graphic accounts of fishermen, local residents and policemen who took a while in recovering their breath after the events they experienced.

One of them is Hector Losa, responsible for guarding the Roggero Dam. He explained how the cabin located above the dam became the target of a singular experience in which a buzzing sound heralded a monumental bath of powerful white light that washed over the building.

Losa became aware of the light – and associated buzzing – as his TV set lost reception and two policemen patrolling the area approached the cabin to find out the source of the glow, which suddenly went out.

Strange Things

Adrian Lopez also informed researchers of how an incandescent light took over a stable during another incredible event, worthy of the best chapter of the X-Files tv series.

But there’s more. Valverdi and his team obtained the story of how a group of fishermen, returning home after an unsuccessful outing, were surrounded by a dense fog. Within the foggy mantle was a light that vanished at the same rate it moved upward.

Aside from the prints and lights, however, there is another mystery in the nature park that members of Codigo Ovni are trying to unravel based on information collected: it involves an animal-like entity that engages in activities ranging from pranks to farm bird depredations in the depths of the nature park.

According to Valverdi, the information gleaned by his group suggests the existence of a strange-looking, unique creature responsible for the deaths of chickens, ducks and geese throughout the nature park.

”If we had to define it,” says Valverdi, “we would say that it’s an animal-like predatory entity,” described as having a hairy, simian appearance, standing 1.20 meters tall and endowed with claws.

This detail is one which multiplies the degree of mystery: there is no known animal in the local fauna whose claws would leave the type of marks found by the researchers in the depths of the nature park, where a figure of uncommon appearance lurks in the bush, stealthy and suspenseful.

A Prowling, Predatory and Prankish Creature

Forest ranger Cacho Ferrer contributed a disquieting story for the investigation conducted by Codigo Ovni’s members in October, involving the strange creature that frequents the area and who is responsible for predations and even pranks.

Ferrer and Hector Losa, mentioned earlier, witnessed a series of curious and unexplained events near the entrance of the Archaeological Museum located near the nature park, where someone methodically unraveled a chain that fastened the iron gates to the establishment. Whenever they heard noise coming from that location, and witnesses turned their eyes to the gate, they were never able to see anyone; however, when approaching the museum entrance, they would always find the chain on the ground, meaning that whoever unraveled it had to engage in very discreet movements to achieve its purpose.

Eyes in the Dark of Night

One of the most direct contact experiences with the cryptic creature dwelling in Reserva Los Robles involved a group of fishermen who were getting ready to spend a night at the shores of the Roggero Reservoir. They witnessed a figure completely different to anything known: an erect figure covered in hair, seen behind the bushes.

The creature stood some two meters tall, had a very large head and somewhat luminous eyes. The shock of the moment kept the terrified fishermen from properly focusing their flashlights on it, and the creature disappeared into the combination of night and vegetation.

Mysterious Steel Spheres Fall Over Peru

Experts are baffled after large steel balls appeared to fall from the sky on January 27 terrifying thousands living in nearby neighborhoods.

Reports have emerged that the mysterious object disintegrated above eastern Brazil and northern Peru. The bizarre incident was accompanied with loud booms.

Locals from Peru's southeastern Andean community of Larancahuani were terrified after finding three mysterious metal objects in nearby fields.

Townsfolk discovered the huge rocks hours after dozens of pictures and videos of a blazing object, taken in Brazilian and Peruvian towns Tingo Maria and Pucalklpa, 115 miles away from each other, were uploaded onto social media.

Romulo Barros, the chief of the fire service in the Brazilian municipality of Cruzeiro do Sul, the object was most likely a meteorite.

But the Peruvian Air Force confirmed the fireball was actually a Russian space rocket re-entering Earth’s atmosphere.

He added, the fireball may have been the re-entry of the SL-23 rocket and the three metal spheres were fuel tanks belonging to a satellite.

Meteorologist Alejandro Fonesca, from the Federal University of Acre in Brazil, said that no meteorites had been predicted to fall in the area. According to him, the ball was more likely made up of space debris.

The balls were eventually confirmed to be a rare atmospheric re-entry of a rocket that was launched from Kazakhstan on December 26.

The balls were 40kg pieces of the rocket used to hold reaction control system propellant or tank pressure gases, they are often the only surviving parts of the rockets.

It was launched as part of a joint venture between Russia and Angola to put the Angosat-1 into orbit in a bid to improve communications in the African country.

Two years ago similar balls were found in Vietnam.
