Trump Comments on Navy UFO Footage
By Devan Cole
President Donald Trump this past week called footage from the Pentagon showing "unidentified aerial phenomena" a "hell of a video" and told Reuters he wonders "if it's real."

Earlier this week, the Pentagon officially released three videos that show what appear to be unidentified flying objects rapidly moving while recorded by infrared cameras. Two of the videos contain service members reacting in awe at how quickly the objects are moving. One voice speculates that it could be a drone.

"I just wonder if it's real," Trump said of the videos. "That's a hell of a video."

The Navy had acknowledged the veracity of the videos -- which had been previously released by a private company in September.

The Navy officially released the videos recently "in order to clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos," according to Pentagon spokesperson Sue Gough.

"The Department of Defense has authorized the release of three unclassified Navy videos, one taken in November 2004 and the other two in January 2015, which have been circulating in the public domain after unauthorized releases in 2007 and 2017.  The U.S. Navy previously acknowledged that these videos circulating in the public domain were indeed Navy videos.   After a thorough review, the department has determined that the authorized release of these unclassified videos does not reveal any sensitive capabilities or systems, and does not impinge on any subsequent investigations of military air space incursions by unidentified aerial phenomena. DOD is releasing the videos in order to clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos. The aerial phenomena observed in the videos remain characterized as “unidentified.”"

In 2017, one of the pilots who saw one of the unidentified objects in 2004 told CNN that it moved in ways he couldn't explain.

"As I got close to it ... it rapidly accelerated to the south, and disappeared in less than two seconds," said retired US Navy pilot David Fravor.

Trump, who has often spread conspiracy theories, is skeptical of UFOs. In an interview with ABC News last year, the President said he'd had a meeting on the subject, but that he's skeptical the fast-moving objects are anything extraterrestrial.

"I did have one very brief meeting on it," he said in the interview. "But people are saying they're seeing UFOs. Do I believe it? Not particularly."

The government has been quietly studying the possibility of UFOs for decades, with the Pentagon previously studying recordings of aerial encounters with unknown objects as part of a since-shuttered classified program that was launched at the behest of former Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada. The program was launched in 2007 and ended in 2012, according to the Pentagon, because they assessed that there were higher priorities that needed funding.

Did The Space Brothers Tell Us to Stay Off The Moon? Part 4
By Timothy Green Beckley
"Excerpted From "Psychic And UFO Revelations For The Twenty-First Century"
THE PHILOSOPHY OF THE SPACE PEOPLE

The space people were talking -- and they had lots to say!

The Canadian researcher best explains his work with these various extraterrestrial sources thus:

"There have been many published instances of contact between those from outside and the people of Earth, and a very great many more that have not been published.  As is always the case in any new and romantic field, there have been those who prevaricate and exaggerate, but it is not too difficult to establish that the vast majority are honest and authentic. For instance, when a dozen or so independent contacts, having no common connection and each alone believing that he or she has been favored above all to receive this message,  gives the same message even down to names and descriptions that tally perfectly, one has little choice but to believe that they are telling the truth.

"Furthermore, when the material given to us through the many channels is all assembled and analyzed, it adds up to a complete and elegant philosophy which makes our efforts sound like the beating of jungle drums.  These people tell us of a magnificent Cosmic plan, of which we are a part, which transcends the lifetime of a single person or nation or civilization, or even a planet or solar system."We are not merely told that there is something beyond our immediate experience — we are told what it is and our relation therewith.  Many of our most vexing problems are solved with a few words; at least, we are told of the solutions if we have the understanding and fortitude to apply them.

"We are told of the inadequacies of our science, and we have been given the basic grounding for a new science which is at once simpler and yet more embracing than the mathematical monstrosity which we have conjured up.  We have been told of a way of life which is Utopian beyond our dreams and the means of attaining it. Can it be that such a self-consistent and magnificent philosophy is the figment of imagination of a number of misguided morons?  I do not think so.  If the only evidence we had was philosophical, we might justifiably suspect it.  But when coupled with the reality of observations—thousands of them—we cannot dismiss it so easily."

Wilbert Smith's thoughts on metaphysical/UFOlogy subjects was, I think, pretty well  expressed in "The Boys from Topside," which I originally penned for Gray Barker's Saucerian Press, circa 1969; and republished in 1996 as "The Boys from Topside: The Life of New Age Futurist Wilbert Smith," through my own efforts as head of Inner Light Publications.  The book contained various essays  by Wilbert Smith, originally written  for the quarterly "Topside" a publication of his Ottawa New Sciences Club.  Here are several excerpts in which he expresses his views quite openly on the matter of alien contact and specifically their vastly superior technology.

"Having located what seemed to be channels of communication between ourselves and these extraterrestrial intelligences, the next and obvious step was to try and get as much information as possible.  As may be expected, this effort was at first directed toward science and technology, but it soon became apparent that there was a very real and quite large gap between this alien science and that in which I had been trained.  Certain crucial experiments were suggested and carried out, and in each case the results confirmed the validity of the alien science.

"The people from elsewhere displayed great patience and understanding in helping me to overcome many of the prejudices and stores of misinformation which I had spent many years accumulating.  I began for the first time in my life to realize the basic ONENESS of the Universe and all that is in it.  Science, philosophy, religion, substance, and energy are all facets of the same jewel, and before any one facet of the jewel can really be appreciated, the form of the jewel itself must be perceived.

"In time, when certain events have transpired, and we are so oriented that we can accept these people from elsewhere, they will meet us freely on the common ground of mutual understanding and trust, and we will be able to learn from them and bring about the Golden Age all men everywhere desire deep within their hearts.

"Man’s brain, which in reality operates on the metaphysical plaine, is like a two-way radio which transmits and receives messages along the air-waves of the universe—and his receiving mechanism is open to thoughts both good and bad, which he either accepts or rejects according to his stage of evolution.

"In conclusion, if any of you have doubts about the veracity of the telepathic and inspirational messages received from Space Brothers and others interested in the welfare of our planet, just ask yourselves this one vital question — 'Are these messages good and true and for the benefit of mankind on Earth'”  If, as you surely must, you come up with an answer of 'Yes,' then it is obvious that it is the hand of God at work, no matter what medium He chooses to use"

This brings me to the book that this article is derived from..."Psychic and UFO Revelations for the Twenty-First Century."
It started out as a saddle stitched booklet of 64 pages and ended up as a large format paperback of nearly 200 pages that sold over 50,000 copies, mainly through the tabloids like the Weekly World News and the Globe, and in a dozen or more psychic and UFO publications like Fate which dotted the newsstand at the time, all of which have dissipated over the last decade, till there are no more -- sort of like "Ten Little Indians."
The title of the book is sort of self explanatory, the contents of which has not been lost for all time. In fact, we have added an appropriate amount of material from the last, 1989, edition as a good deal of this material is still appropriate and many of the predictions have either transpired, are yet to come about -- and, yes, there were a few that hit way off the mark. Even the Space Brothers can fail when it comes to prophecy. We can't all be Nostradamus, I suppose.
So grab your cosmic score card and start taking notes, and let's see what the space folks -- that includes you Ashtar and Semjase --  have to say when it comes to events that might be right ahead.
The space people want me to tell you that they bring peace and harmony. And I'll ditto that.

The Little Green Man That Refused To Die
By Adam Gorightly
Photos of little green (or silver) men have long been a fixture in ufology and, like everything else, these artifacts get dusted off and trotted out after a period of time has elapsed and run through the grinder again. One such retread that has continued to make the rounds—decade after decade—is a photo that first surfaced in the German newspaper  Neue Illustrierte on  April 1st, 1950, with the title “Der Mars-Mensch” which showed a strange looking little feller apparently from another planet—Mars, in this case. The accompanying article claimed that the Martian had been in a saucer crash that occurred in “Death Valley.”

A few days later, Neue Illustrierte copped that the Martian story was an April Fool’s prank, but that didn’t stop the photo from spreading through the UFO subculture in the years to follow. Since then the photo—sometimes referred to as “Silverman”—has appeared in numerous UFO books, often including the false narrative that it depicted an alien who had survived a saucer crash.

Saucer scholar Isaac Koi (www.isaackoi.com) compiled a timeline of the Silverman photo and the publications in which it appeared. The first book to feature this freaky photo was Major Donald Keyhoe’s Flying Saucers from Outer Space (1953). Keyhoe described it as “two men in trench coats, each holding an arm of a queer, shiny figure about three feet high.  Two girls standing nearby seemed to be awestruck by the little man…Eyewitness G-Man McKennerich, from Phoenix, reports “I was astounded by the importance of this great moment.  For the first time I was seeing a being from another world.  At the same time I was equally amazed by the desperation of this Aluminum Man. His body was covered with a shiny metal foil.  The observatory in Phoenix presumes this is for protection from cosmic rays…”

Conflicting narratives surround the Silverman photo, some of which identified the trench-coated gents as U.S. government agents (G-Men), while other accounts described them as German scientists, and that “Silverman” was not necessarily silver-skinned, but outfitted in some sort of aluminum spaceman suit.

In Space-Craft from Beyond Three Dimensions (1959), W. Gordon Allen referenced that the creature in the Silverman photo had crawled out of a crashed saucer:

A “saucer crewman” very much like the moon man (or spirit) described by Swedenborg in his writings about the inhabitants of different planets of the solar system…This photograph is from Germany (note trench coats and North European types), but the “saucer crewman” is from a UFO that crashed near Mexico City; the corpses were sent to Germany for study…

In 1967, a concerned citizen sent a copy of the Silverman photo to FBI headquarters in D.C. inquiring if the trench-coated men were FBI agents, to which J. Edgar Hoover responded: “I can assure you the photograph you mentioned does not represent employees of this Bureau.”

Most recently, Harold Povenmire in UFO’s and Alien Abduction Phenomena: A Scientific Analysis (2016) published a colorized version of the Silverman photo as the real deal, although what “scientific analysis” he conducted is unclear. Thanks to Povenmire, this new iteration of the Silverman photo soon began worming its way through social media, as a new generation of believers clicked and shared to their heart’s content.

Pentagon Knows A Lot More About UFOs
By Jason Koebler
Former Nevada Sen. Harry Reid said last week that the three UFO videos released by the U.S. Navy Tuesday “only scratches the surface” of the Pentagon’s research into UFOs and that the government should consider releasing more information to the American people.

Reid, who was a senator for 30 years and was Senate majority leader from 2007 to 2015, helped to create a so-called “black budget” for the Pentagon’s UFO program, called the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, according to a 2017 New York Times investigation that revealed its existence.

The program was run by Luis Elizondo, who shared UFO videos filmed by the military with former Blink-182 singer Tom DeLonge’s UFO group, To the Stars Academy. The videos, called GIMBAL, GOFAST, and FLIR, have circulated widely over the last three years and were finally officially published by the Navy. Elizondo now works for DeLonge’s organization.

Reid tweeted that he is “glad the Pentagon is finally releasing this footage, but it only scratches the surface of research and materials available. The U.S. needs to take a serious, scientific look at this and any potential national security implications. The American people deserve to be informed.”

Motherboard and Popular Mechanics have reported that the military has a classified version of the FLIR video, which was filmed off the coast of California in 2004; Reid seems to suggest that there exists many more files and documents.

Elizondo and other Pentagon officials have said that the AATIP program is intended to identify “unknown aerial phenomena,” with the idea being that advanced aircraft could pose some sort of threat to national security.

While many people hear “UFO” and immediately think “aliens,” the thinking in much of the UFO community is that the U.S. government and other countries’ militaries are hiding highly advanced, stealth aircraft.

The leaking of these three videos spurred a renaissance in UFOlogy over the last few years, and their official release has created another wave of interest in the government’s UFO research. There does indeed seem to be movement in this space—last year, the military officially partnered with DeLonge’s organization to study “exotic” materials, and more details have slowly trickled out about a series of government programs that studied UFOs.

- THE LITTLE MERMAID THEY ARE NOT DEPARTMENT -

Catching Mermaids on Man

Different peoples build their identity around different facts: the Italians around their food, the French around La France, the Poles (at least in times gone by) around their Catholicism. The Isle of Man, between Britain and Ireland, meanwhile, built its identity, at least in early-modern times, around a belief in the wonderful (phantom dogs, water bulls and, as Beachcombing will soon demonstrate, merfolk). The rest of Europe got all enlightened, revolutionary and ‘with-it’: taking the long slippery slide that leads to social democracy, universal but mediocre healthcare, a do-gooding parasitical political class and obscene tax levels.  But the Manx pinned their identity, instead on pixies and related beliefs that the English were already giving up in the twelfth century. Hence ‘magical Man’, an island famous today for low tax rates, motorcycle races and fairies.

Anyway, to the source. This text appears in a rare book on Man written by an English resident in the island toward the beginning of the eighteenth century. The book was written as a kind of tour guide, but fails miserably as the author keeps getting distracted by the ‘magical’ beliefs of the locals that he is sceptical about but that he cannot resist reporting. Interestingly, he almost admits to being a reluctant convert to the fairy faith having seen ‘fairy circles’ and fairy footprints in the snow.

The event here dates to the 1650s about eighty years before the book was published. It is just within living memory then, but deep within the period when ‘Manks man’, as our author insists on calling the locals, would have been able to people the past with bold eye-witness events. Beachcombing is going to risk ridicule by suggesting that the following sentence contains the first ever explicit reference to mysterious beasts needing peace and obscurity – a favourite of later nineteenth-century marvel literature and twentieth-century cryptozoology. Certainly the account has a strangely rational entrée.

In the time, said they, that Oliver Cromwell usurped the protectorship of England [1649-1658 at the broadest], few or no ships resorted to this island [of Man], and that uninterruption and solitude of the sea, gave the mermen and mermaids (who are enemies to any company but those of their own species) frequent opportunities of visiting the shore, where, in moonlight nights, they have been seen to sit, combing their heads, and playing with each other; but as soon as they perceived anybody coming near them, they jumped into the water, and were out of sight immediately.

But human curiosity naturally got the better of the good Manx folk.

Some people who lived near the coast, having observed their behaviour, spread large nets, made of small but very strong cords, upon the ground, and watched at a convenient distance for their approach. The night they had laid this snare, but one happened to come, who was no sooner set down, than those who held the strings of the net, drew them with a sudden jerk and enclosed their prize beyond all possibility of escaping.  On opening their net, and examining their captive, the largeness of her breasts, and the beauty of her complexion, it was found to be a female; nothing, continued my author [i.e. informant?], could be more lovely, more exactly formed, in all parts above the waist, resembling a complete young woman, but below that, all fish, with fins, and a huge spreading tail. She was carried to a house, and used very tenderly, nothing but liberty being denied. But though they set before her the best provision the place afforded, she could not be prevailed on to eat or drink, neither could they get a word from her, though they knew these creatures were not without the gift of speech, having heard them talk to each other, when sitting regaling themselves on the seaside.

Beachcombing presumes the Merfolk spoke Manx, a language that died out in the 1970s.

They kept her in this manner three days, but perceiving she began to look very ill notwithstanding, and fearing, some calamity would befall the island if they should keep her till she died, they agreed to let her return to the element she liked best and the third night set open their door; which, as soon as she beheld she raised herself from the place where she was then lying, and glided with incredible swiftness, on her tail, to the seaside. They followed at a distance, and saw her plunge into the water, where she was met by a great number of her own species, one of whom asked what she had observed among the people on earth; nothing very wonderful answered she, but that they are so very ignorant, as to throw away the water they boil their eggs in. This question, and her reply, they told me, was distinctly heard by those who stood on the shore to watch what passed.

What is perhaps most interesting is the importance of belief in the creatures for the eighteenth-century Manx: As I had not yet attained a thorough knowledge of the superstition of these people, nor the passionate fondness for everything that might be termed, the wonderful, I was excessively surprised at this account, given with so serious an air, and so much, and solemnly averred for truth. Indeed, the locals were not happy at our author’s scepticism: I perceived they were not a little disgusted at my want of Faith…

Beachcombing hates baroque capitals and has ‘normalised’ the English in this passage. However, he left that final word in its virgin F-form.

Mermaid stories have never done anyone any harm and Beachcombing hopes to come soon to Barnum’s monstrosity and Carmichael’s Hebridean mermaids.

No One Wants This Free House Because It Is Too Haunted
By Dave Basner

In most parts of America, it costs a fair amount of money to buy a 2,400 square-foot, two-story, four-bedroom home, but there's one in Louisiana that is actually being given away yet still no one wants it. So what's the problem? It's haunted.

In a post advertising the free house on real estate agent Sylvia McLain's Facebook page, people who have lived in or visited the home filled the comments section with their creepy encounters. Former owner Dawn Vallot DeClout, whose family owned the place since it was built in 1860 until they left in the 1980s, said that her great grandmother's spirit still lives in the house. That woman, named Adele, died in the home's front room at the age of 90, and to this day can often be heard stirring and moving around any pots left unattended in the kitchen. The ghost doesn't seem too menacing though - Dawn explained:

"We believe [Adele] is the ghost, but she's not menacing at all. She was probably like 4ft 9in and weighed about 100lb. She lived to be almost 90 and she was always digging in the pots, like when you have something on the stove and someone goes and looks in the pot and stirs it around. She was well-known for that, and so when we lived there, we used to hear her all the time jangling the pots when we had something on the stove. You could hear somebody picking up the lid but there was nobody in the kitchen."

Among the hundreds of responses on Sylvia's Facebook post were: "Yes it is [haunted]. I experienced three things there that could not be explained and my friend that lived there had more than that.

"We actually experienced one together and we still talk about it."

Another added: "Most likely the haunting will stay attached to the land and whoever lives in the new home they build will deal with it."

A third said they visited the home and reported 'a lot of weird noises in the ceilings and walls'.

Sylvia remains hopeful that someone will want the house, she said: "It's probably going to need to be taken apart in order to move it unless it's going really close.

"It's bittersweet. We know somebody will have a nice place with some historical value and a little bit of a story, but it's a chapter of our family that will be moving on.

"We probably won't tear the house down. We'll probably either restore it or find a place for it unless we have to."

While having ghosts in the house might be a turn-off to some, others aren't interested in taking the home because it would require a restoration. Along with that, the entire house needs to be moved. The renovation and relocation would cost over $80,000, however, if it is kept nearby, that cost could be significantly lower.

And if you're like some commenters, afraid the ghost will come along with the house, Sylvia says not to worry because former owners brought in ghost hunters to banish the old woman's spirit.

Best of all, the house's two air conditioning units work!
